4 - 5 Day Combination Institutes

Four to five day institutes are a composite of the 2 and 3 day workshops. For example a 4-day institute may deal with addition and subtraction for grades K-3 and then continue with a 2-day institute on multiplication and division, grades 3-5. A fifth day can be added for fractions, grades 4-6. Another option would be to do an in-depth 4 or 5 day institute on a grade span, for example K-3 (on early number sense, addition and subtraction, and algebra), connect the work to the K-3 Contexts for Learning Mathematics curriculum materials, and develop both an understanding of how to design and use investigations and minilessons in a math workshop and construct the landscape that is related to the K-3 span.
